These are very nicely padded, if you are like me and have a skinny arm, then they are loose and do slip down, but I prefer this to the really tight fit that cuts off circulation. I have washed once to check durability, air dry only and they are in great condition. I am happy enough and would buy again. When I ordered this, I was under the impression only one pad was enclosed. Couple of comments said there were 2 enclosed. I didn't know which way to go. tried ordering 2 but said only 1 available. Sure was a surprise when I received it the pkg. box contained 2 pads. Perhaps description should say: two enclosed in box. I really like this product. happy with purchase. thanks. No one would ever accuse me of having skinny arms--they're quite plump past the elbow--and this thing stretches to fit my chubby upper arm just fine. It's not binding, it stays in place, and best of all, it cushions my sore elbow really well. Time will tell, as I've only been wearing it about half a day, but so far, I'd give it an A+. If there are any changes, I'll update.UPDATE 5/5: As of today, I have been wearing my (what is it, Bird & Cronin?) mesh elbow sleeve/protector for a little over a week, and I really like it. To help you decide whether or not this is the right thing for your elbow issue, I've measured my arm in two places so you can compare with your own arm size; personally, I find reviews that provide this kind of info very helpful. So: just below the elbow, the circumference of my arm is 10-3/4". Just above the elbow, it's 11-3/4". The sleeve fits me comfortably with *plenty* of room to spare; the mesh is very stretchy. Seriously, it could stretch two more inches, maybe even 2-1/2".Something you may want to be aware of is that it does tend to slide down during the night while you're sleeping, but a strip of medical tape on either end easily prevents this. And if, unlike me, you don't squirm around in your sleep very much, it shouldn't be an issue at all. Conclusion: If you have contact dermatitis, a persistent rash, or any kind of minor cut or abrasion on your elbow and you're on the fence about this item, I recommend that you try it. My allergic rash (to a synthetic fabric in which I had encased a decorative bed pillow) had become increasingly irritated every day I left it uncovered, even though I had removed the offending allergen. The rash is now virtually gone, and I owe that healing to this garment as much to the hydrocortisone cream I used to treat it. We all lean on our elbows probably more than we realize--until we injure them in some way. After this experience, I'm convinced elbows don't heal especially well without some sort cushy covering; without that, you just keep reinjuring it. Of course, you could make a thing like this at home--I'm all for Do-It-Yourself, if you can make improvements without spending too much money or time. In this case, however, a homemade sleeve would probably not be much better functionally--and when you think of all the different bandaging products you'd have to buy to make it work, definitely not cheaper.I have severe psoriasis on my elbows - these make resting on tender or sore elbows very comfortable - the secret is a 3 section soft foam insert that 'cups' the elbow - I live in them 24/7 - I folded one inside out to show the insert - Unfortunately, there's some issues -[1] they are white and quickly look dirty and grubby - I haven't tried washing them - they get dirty so quick they'd have to be washed everyday and I don't know that they would survive daily washing - when I get a roundtuit, I'm gonna try dyeing a pair black to see if that at least camouflages the dirt - for now, I wear them constantly and ignore that they look dirty -[2] The stretchy material that holds the inserts loses it's shape rather quickly - it still keeps the insert cupped insert on the elbow, so it isn't really a problem except appearance -I sit at a desk/table all day and wear these continuously - they provide the comfort I need to rest on my elbows all day - I'm an old man and don't care that my elbow pads look grubby when I am out in public - comfort trumps appearances - I attached two other photos so dirt and distortion can be seen - the photos are after 3 weeks of continuous wear -I have tried three other elbow pads and none of them come close to the sore elbow relief provided by these Bird & Cronin Cradles Elbow/ Heel SupportsThese are exactly what I needed for the wheelchair / bedridden client that I have as she was getting pressure sores on her elbows. The 3 star rating is because the mesh covering stretches out pretty quickly and slides down her arm. Not sure what the fix is. This has great potential.I enjoy wearing this product for my elbow for protection.Keeps me from bumping it. It is very comfortable and I would order it again.Sometimes you just need a little something to help the healing. I had a very bruised elbow and would constantly be resting it on an arm rest or hitting it somehow, which kept it sore. After getting the Bird & Cronin Cradle my elbow has been protected and each day it hurts a little less. I didn't realize when I ordered there was 2 of the items in the package. Nice surprise! Since the description said 'sold individually' I assumed it was just one, perhaps I just got lucky. The mesh part is stiff and tight when you first get it out of the package, but it doesn't take long after you put it on for it to adjust to your size. The cushion is a little firm and encircles your elbow on 3 sides giving you the ultimate protection. It is very easy to put on and take off and even after a week of wearing the support it still fits without slipping. Mine can be easily concealed under a bulky sweater or jacket. The picture is pretty true to how it fits on your arm. My arms are a little longer so it doesn't go down on my forearm as far. This is unisex small/large enough for both male and female.I am looking forward to my elbow being completely healed and I no longer need to wear my Bird & Cronin Cradle but until then I think I picked the right product to do the job and the prices couldn't be more affordable.
