I keep trying other safflower seeds from various local stores hoping to find a cheaper one that is as good. But they all have fillers, smaller seeds, bad seeds, and other junk. Meanwhile the 40 lb. bag combined with a Prime membership is actually pretty cost-effective. And the squirrels are disappointed, as are the grackles and cowbirds who otherwise empty the feeder in short order. I have all the kinks of finches, cardinals, various woodpeckers, titmice, chickadees, and mourning doves regularly, and the occasional flicker and catbird.
